Erion was born in Tirana and grew up between the capital, Berat and his grandmother's kitchen in Përmet. He writes about Albanian cities the way a local shows a friend around — which bakery is worth queueing at, which castle has the shortcut, which restaurant's tavë kosi is the real thing.
