Guesthouse Skënder Selimaj sits about 45 minutes on foot from the Valbonë trailhead, a cluster of small stone houses run by a family that hikers on the Theth–Valbonë route consistently single out as the best stop of the trip. Rooms are basic but spotless, most with balconies looking straight at the surrounding peaks, and there's a beanbag-strewn terrace for collapsing into after a long day's walk. Packed lunches run about four euros, dinner around ten, and both regularly get called the best food guests ate anywhere in the Alps.
