Porto Palermo Beach

Porto Palermo Beach sits in the sheltered bay below Ali Pasha's nineteenth-century fortress, one of the few stretches of the Albanian Riviera near Qeparo where a genuine landmark rises right out of the water. The shore mixes sand and pebble, and the bay's near-closed shape keeps the sea calmer than the open coast a few kilometres north or south. It stays low-key outside peak August weekends, a spot for swimming toward the castle walls rather than working on a tan among rows of loungers.
