Cross-border trails from Vermosh into Montenegro
The northernmost Albanian village links to Plav and Gusinje (Montenegro) via 2,000 m alpine passes — a quiet, dramatic corner of the Balkans.

From Vermosh you can hike across the high pastures into the Plav-Gusinje region of Montenegro. Several routes exist — most are 7–10h day trips. A passport is required even though no formal border post operates on these mule trails.
