Borsh — the Riviera's longest beach
Seven kilometres of pebble and sand, an olive grove behind, almost no high-rises. Borsh is the slow-Riviera answer to packed Ksamil.
Why Borsh?
If Ksamil has the Instagram fame, Borsh has the space. Seven kilometres of beach mean even an August afternoon feels manageable.
When to visit
June to early October. Off-peak (June, late Sept) you can have whole stretches of sand to yourself.
Where to stay
Family-run guesthouses scattered across the olive grove behind the beach. Borsh village (uphill) for cheaper rooms with views. €30–€60 most of the year.
What to eat
Octopus and lamb cooked over wood fire — try Mexhid Aliko along the road. Most beach restaurants are honest, family-run.
Don't miss
- The Ali Pasha aqueduct above the village — 19th-century stone arches
- The olive groves — among Albania's oldest, some trees over 1,000 years
- A morning walk on the empty north end of the beach
- Day trip to Lukova (15 min north) for hidden coves
How to get there
On the Riviera coast road between Sarandë (45 min south) and Himarë (45 min north). Buses run several times daily.
