Krujë Castle

Krujë Castle is inseparable from Skanderbeg, the national hero who made this hilltop his headquarters against Ottoman rule, and the complex still leans into that history through a museum of artefacts, old maps and an adjoining ethnographic collection. Below the fortress, the old bazaar draws its own crowd browsing traditional crafts before the climb. From the ramparts, the view stretches over the surrounding mountains toward a distant sliver of Adriatic coastline.
