Folk dress in Albania — xhubleta, fustanellë and the white felt cap

Northern (Geg) costume

• Xhubleta — a bell-shaped, heavily decorated wool skirt that hung from the shoulders. UNESCO-listed in 2022.
• Plis — the white conical felt cap worn by men, ancient Illyrian origin.

Southern (Tosk) costume

• Fustanellë — a pleated white skirt worn by men (think the famous Greek evzones — same family).
• Embroidered red vests for women.

• Wedding parties (occasionally).
