Qafa Thores is one of the high passes that connects the Theth side of the Accursed Mountains to neighbouring valleys, and this route pushes up to it before dropping to a spring-fed pool locals call the Blue Eye, a smaller, quieter cousin of the famous Syri i Kaltër further south. It's graded hard for good reason: sustained altitude gain, exposed scree in places, and weather that can turn quickly once you're above the treeline. This is a route for hikers with real mountain experience, tackled May to October and never alone if it can be helped.
