Tradicional Food Rayan sits away from the polished restaurants clustered near Krujë Castle, and travelers who make the extra few minutes' walk tend to call it the better meal — qofte, kaçkavall, and a tave dheu thick with egg and tomato that catches first-timers off guard with the liver folded into it. The owner, Rayan himself, walks tables through the menu with patience that shows up in review after review, steering vegetarians toward stuffed peppers or spinach byrek. After nine days touring Albania, one traveler called this their best traditional meal of the whole trip.
