Shala River — the "Thai of Albania" canyon by boat
The Shala river flows through a steep canyon north of Lake Komani — a half-day boat trip with swimming stops makes one of Albania's great soft adventures.

Locals call it "the Thai of Albania" for its turquoise water and steep canyon walls. Wooden boats leave from the Lake Komani side, motor up the Shala for 45 minutes to swimming pools, and return by sunset.
