Curraj i Eperm - Qerec

The path between Curraj i Epërm and Qerec links two of the half-abandoned highland hamlets scattered above Valbonë, in the heart of the Albanian Alps' national park. Stone houses with slate roofs, many now used only in summer by families who return to graze livestock, punctuate a route that climbs through beech forest before opening onto bare ridgeline. There's no crowd here and no facilities either, so carry water and expect a full day's effort. Snowmelt and reliable trail conditions generally hold from May into October.
