The coast
Mediterranean: warm, dry summers (28–34 °C), mild rainy winters (10–14 °C). Sea swimmable late May to mid-October.
The mountains
Alpine in the north, snow December–April above 1,500 m. Summer days warm (22–28 °C), nights cool (8–14 °C).
The interior (Berat, Korçë, Tirana)
More continental — hotter summers (peaks to 40 °C in Berat in August), colder winters than the coast.
Best months by region
- Coast: late May–early July; September–early October.
- Mountains: mid-June through October.
- Cities: April–June, September–October.
